Introduction to VA Health System: Opportunities and Challenges in Integrating Technology

Short Bio:

Dr. Mark Kunik as Professor at BCM in the Menninger Dept of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Director of a VA mental health research center or excellence, the South Central MIRECC.  Most of research, training, and clinical efforts have focused on improving the mental health of older adults and their caregivers.  In addition, he is a distinguished mentor for investigators from multiple disciplines and all levels of development.

Dr. Jan Lindsay is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine, and a psychologist and health services researcher at the  Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center (MEDVAMC). Dr. Lindsay leads a grant-funded, interdisciplinary team that implements and evaluates technology-based mental health interventions, including video-to-home telehealth and integrating web-based programs into remotely-delivered care.  Her clinical research interests include treatment of substance use, disorders, HIV, and PTSD.
