Short Bio
Luca Buratto is the founder of LUBU, a startup focused on improving human well-being through high-end footwear powered by AI, healthcare, and wearable technologies.
In recent years, he was in charge of tech and product innovation for Podartis, a leading global company in the study of the biomechanics of the human body and production of products for foot and ankle treatment, thanks to partnerships with universities all over the world, from the Politecnico di Milano to the University of Cambridge, passing through the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, the Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli and many others. The result of partnerships and collaborations, not only with universities but also with companies such as Vibram, has been multiple patented products and materials for the care of the foot, especially pathological ones such as diabetic or rheumatic feet.
Together with numerous international research institutes, he has conducted tests on kinematics, gait analysis, and the impact of movement on the human body.
Angel investor in many early-stage startups, Luca, originally from the Venice countryside in Italy, lives now between Los Angeles, Menlo Park, and Milan, with the goal of creating direct innovation opportunities between Italy and the United States.
