Biomedical science, preventive care, and managing chronic health conditions: the use of technology and data analytics

Biography: Dr. Aghajani is a Research Scientist at The University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute (UTARI), division of Sensor Systems.

Her current research interests are focused on Biomedical Research and Development, Application of Data Science Techniques in Biomedical and Healthcare Domains (e.g. Bio/Wearable Signal Processing, Data Analysis, and Algorithm Development), Clinical Research, and Medical Devices (e.g. Sensor Integration, Circuit Design, and Embedded Programming).

Dr. Aghajani received her B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (University of Tehran) and her M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering (Sharif University of Technology). During her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering (2013-2017) she was working in the Multimodal Brain Imaging Lab at the University of Houston, Department of Biomedical Engineering. Before joining UTARI, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working on a multidisciplinary clinical research project at Baylor Scott and White Hospital. She has comprehensive theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in neural engineering, functional brain imaging (EEG, fNIRS, etc.), and computational neuroscience techniques.
