Short Bio:
Dr. Samantha Scott is the Founder and CEO of JuneBrain, Inc. Samantha received her BS in Biomechanical Engineering from Stanford University and went on to earn her MS and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California, where her work focused on neural plasticity in low vision patients and development of a retinal prosthesis device.
As a biomedical engineer and scientist, Samantha has a passion for how structural and functional changes in the brain manifest in the retina and has spent her over 14-year career developing medical devices to diagnose and treat retinal diseases as well as using neuroimaging and ophthalmic imaging techniques to track functional and structural changes that provide data for medical treatment.
In 2017, Samantha was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease called Myasthenia Gravis and she founded JuneBrain in response to the monitoring challenges she faced as a patient. Today, JuneBrain prioritizes innovation and accessibility as a means to improve patient care and quality of life.
